10-19-2018 From Director Jason Flom

You are receiving this message because you are a current, former, and/or alumni family, or you are listed as family of a Cornerstone Learning Community student.  (Bonus item: Big shout out to CLC alumni, Avery Bartlett (‘11), on being named the ACC Champion in the 800m in track and field. He runs for Georgia Tech. Well earned! )

Greetings from CLC,  Just three quick items:

  1. We hope you and yours all fared  Hurricane Michael well. We are thinking deeply about all the friends, family, and current/former community members so deeply impacted by this storm. Please reach out with ideas for how we can be of service in the recovery process.

  2. Our post-hurricane workday was an enormous success. Such an incredible turnout. The warmest of thank yous to everyone able to make it and who reached out regarding it. We accomplished way more than I had hoped or dreamed. Your hard work helped ensure our campus was safe and ready for students this past Monday. It truly was a quintessential reflection of a community in the process of (re)building community.

  3. Due to the disruption from the hurricane, we are extending The CLC Fund a week into November (finishing Nov. 9) to give everyone — current/alumni families and interested grandparents — an opportunity to participate and contribute. You can pledge your contribution now using this link. To learn more about the vital importance of The CLC Fund, please use this link. And remember, gifts of stock options are greatly valued and appreciated. You can contact our Business Director, Carole Robards (crobards@cornerstonelc.com) to learn more.

Thank you, everyone. The joyous sounds of kids on campus, people sharing their hurricane stories, and us now turning our attention toward those more heavily impacted to the west is a wonderful indicator of the quality of our community. We are a reflection of you.

Hope you and yours have a wonderful week.

Warmly,

Jason Flom, Director
