2 Things from the School Director

Jason Flom, School Director – 8/23/2018

Hi Everyone,  What a great start to the new year. Our school is so much more lively and inspiring with all the students here! Thank you for being a part of our mission to inspire and empower compassionate, global learners.

Just a quick note to share two (and a half) important items: (1) Cross Country is BACK! Thanks to the leadership of CLC parent of two and our Board Chair, Mario Encinosa, we have a CC team again. (Thanks, Mario!) Contact Mario or our Athletic Director, Annmarie Small, if you missed the  informational meeting on  August 29th.     Everyone in 4th – 8th grade is welcome to join. (Additional parent volunteers also very welcomed!)

(2) Our social justice (adult) book group is kicking off the school year with the award winning young adult novel, “The Hate You Give” by Angie Thomas. Because it is a relatively quick read, we will meet just once, on Sept. 27 at 5:30 here at CLC. We’ll provide free child care for all attendees who need it from 5:30 – 7:00. We hope you’ll join us. jflom@cornerstonelc.com

—–(2.5) this year we are also looking to build a social justice digital resource library to supplement the book group. If you would like to help curate or have experience curating such a resource, please let me know and I’ll give you editable access to the folder.)

Thanks, everyone. I have a good feeling about this year and am eager to dive into this work with you.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Warmly,   Jason
