Easy to Make With Kids

My young grandson was very excited today to share with me an article in his magazine Highlights.  It was for cranberry pineapple sauce.  With considerable amazement he asked:  “Did you know you can put it on ice cream AND on turkey?”  So here you go …  1 cup chunky cranberries – fresh or canned, 3/4 cup of crushed pineapple – fresh  or canned, 2 Tlbs of orange juice (we used whole Halos, peeled of course), 1-1/2 Tlbs of maple syrup.

cranberry-pineapple-relishIt tasted delicious, I thought it was a bit runny so I put a wee bit of cornstarch in some of the pineapple juice and zapped it for a minute and then mixed it into the rest.
